Chads Place was originally in memory of William Oliver Gladstone Greene; my Pap and Collissa's Grandpap. As the site has developed through, it feels more like a journey into the past, unraveling of memories and a Pandora's Box of treats that only 'old dead people can give the pleasure of giving you.

Collissa and I stumbled upon each other very early in 2004 by a push from Cols Nanna and my Aunt Maureen. Col and I had both ventured into genealogy tentatively on our individual merits, but neither had ever worked on the family research with another person.

From what Maureen had told me about Col, I approached with caution with a phone call. Relief washed over me when I discovered that Col wasn't the alien outcast Maureen had painted her to be. Even though she lived in 'small Queensland country town', Col was very up to date on what internet and email was. We exchanged addresses and ICQ immediately, and within a week had merged both our genealogy research (I won't tell you about the time Col deleted the GEDCOM file!)

From that initial blending of GEDCOM (genealogy files) we started off with around 100 odd people we laid claim to as related or ancestors from a common pair of individuals John & Pemerly Green.

In the short time that Col and I have worked together, our genealogy research has grown to just over 1003 related (by birth or marriage) colourful people. Along the way I have found Caroline whose family has descended through Catherine GREEN, daughter of John GREEN and Pamerly CURLE (m. 1851)

Another great find was Kay whose family descended from the FOWLER line, via a marriage between James Berwick FOWLER and Anni NEWLANDS (1899).

When we started, our focus was a dude called John Green and his teenage bride Pemerly (m. 1851 Bathurst) and the ancestors arising from these two people. Handed down stories have told us that we originated from Scotland, Ireland, England, and Wales. We have so far found links to Scotland, Ireland and England. We've yet to find the Welsh connection.

Puzzles we are still solving are:

**	What happened to John Berwick WHEELER (b.1910) - aka Uncle Jack

**	Who James ALEXANDER is the son of. James Alexander FOWLER has a headstone inscription stating that he was the 'Great Grand Son of Claud Alexander of Ballochmyle. We have found that apart from oral family heritage handed down the generations, a lack of documented evidence.

What we do know is that James Alexander FOWLERs (b. 1842 Alloa Clackamannan) mother was Harriet ALEXANDER, who married David FOWLER in Alloa Clackamannan Scotland). Harriet's father is James ALEXANDER.

James ALEXANDER (Harriet's dad) should be (if the headstone inscription is correct) the son of Sir Claud Alexander of Ballochmyle. The documentation though has not yet been located to substantiate this though.

If by chance you can shed some light on this particular mystery, please feel free to contact Collissa and me on descendants@optusnet.com.au.

Likewise, Collissa and I are only too happy to share the research that we have completed, just let us know who you are interested in and well see if we can help.

We are always on the look out for bits and pieces of information regarding our family heritage. In particular photographs, old documents of any sort, stories handed down through generations. Anything that you would like to contribute would be welcomed with open arms (and huge gushing smiles).

Please stop by the Guest Book and leave a note showing you were here.

Always speak kindly wherever you go,
Strewing bright flowers where none could grow.
Some are so weary, so lonely, so sad,
Always speak kindly to make others glad.
